Children Who Welcome Sponsorship - Chin Sin

My name is Chin Sin. I am 12 years old and autistic. I am a student at Special Children Society of Ampang. My teachers teach me not to pinch my friends or make too much noise.

I am learning to swim and play football.

Your sponsorship of RM260 per month will provide me transportation to the centre at the cost of RM150, special needs swimming lessons at the cost of RM50, and speech therapy at RM60 per session.

My name is Pui Hiong. I am 13 years old and a slow learner.

My needs every month are transportation to the centre at the cost of RM150, physiotherapy at RM60 per session, speech therapy at RM60 per session and occupational therapy at RM60 per session.

The total cost for a month is RM330.

Any sponsoring of these fees for a month would help me and my carers to provide me quality care and education.

Pui Hiong

My name is Sai Keong. I am 15 years old and a slow learner. I am a student at Special Children Society of Ampang for 3 years. Like my sister Pei Yin, I learn daily living skill activities. I also swim, play football and attend horse-riding for the disabled.

I have won several prizes at Horse-Riding Competitions for the Disabled and am very proud of myself. I hope to be able to compete at the Special Olympics in the future.

My needs every month are transportation to the centre at the cost of RM150, special needs swimming lessons at the cost of RM50 and speech therapy at RM60 per session.

The total cost for a month is RM260.

Sai Keong

Children Who Welcome Sponsorship - Lip Sean

My name is Lip Sean. I am 10 years old. I cannot walk on my own. I wear a leg brace to help my legs get strong. My muscles are so stiff that it is also difficult to smile.

I am a student at Special Children Society of Ampang. Everyday I have to learn to walk up and down the stairs which is a very difficult skill for me. I am learning to hold a cup and drink but I spill a lot. My teacher says it is a good try.

Your sponsorship of RM330 per month will provide me transport to the centre at the cost of RM150, massage at Absolution Relaxation Blind Massage Centre at the cost of RM60, occupational therapy at RM60 per session and physiotherapy at RM60 per session.

Lip Sean

Children Who Welcome Sponsorship - Pugal

My name is Pugal. I am 8 years old and autistic. I am getting used to going to school at Special Children Society of Ampang. My teachers taught me to brush my teeth which was very scary. I kicked my teacher but she assured my brushing my teeth won’t hurt. Now I can brush my teeth very well. I also like to go horse-riding but I don’t like the safety helmet. I enjoy swimming too.

Your sponsorship of RM270 per month will provide me transportation to the centre at the cost of RM150, speech therapy at RM60 per session and occupational therapy at RM60 per session.

Pugal

Children Who Welcome Sponsorship - Yew Heng

Chong Yew Heng is an 8 year old boy born with autism. He has been with Special Children Society of Ampang for 2 years. Presently he is in the Centre acquiring basic academic skills and living skills to be as independent as possible.

Yew Heng is timid and shy. He has an older sister and lives with his mother, who is a single parent.

Regular sponsorship for Yew Heng would be welcome to ensure his care and education in the Centre.

My name is Foo Wai Lon. I am 15 years old. I am a student at Special Children Society of Ampang for 4 years. I learn daily living skills in the centre. I also swim, play football and attend horse-riding for the disabled.

My name is Sophia. I am 31 years old and born with Down Syndrome. I am a student at Special Children Society of Ampang for 6 years. I learn to prepare food and many living skill activities.
I also play football, swim and attend horse-riding for the disabled.

Children Who Welcome Sponsorship - Yu Xin


Chong Yu Xin is a 6 year old girl who was born premature at 6 months and diagnosed with ‘Spastic Diplegia °2’. She can’t walk and requires support splints to help facilitate and support her mobility. On top of that, her eyes require special glasses as the doctors fear she may go blind with out early correction.

Chong Yu Xin started at the centre on 28th January 2004 coming only twice a week an hour each time for early intervention programme and physiotherapy services to help improve her gross motor skill. She cried so bitterly each time she was left at the centre.

Today Chong Yu Xin comes in everyday with a grin and joins her friends in all activities including swimming on Thursdays. She is still unable to walk but goes through intensive therapies and training sessions at the centre and in the Government Hospital.

Chong Yu Xin needs financial assistance. Her medication costs more than RM 200 per month. Her splints have to be changed every time she grows and her spectacles are too costly. Her parents work as a mee stall holder and they have another young son. Her parents are unable to contribute the monthly RM450 for her education but they are determined and courageous as little Yu Xin and contribute what they can help her overcome her disabilities.
