Children Who Welcome Sponsorship - Yu Xin

Chong Yu Xin is a 6 year old girl who was born premature at 6 months and diagnosed with ‘Spastic Diplegia °2’. She can’t walk and requires support splints to help facilitate and support her mobility. On top of that, her eyes require special glasses as the doctors fear she may go blind with out early correction.

Chong Yu Xin started at the centre on 28th January 2004 coming only twice a week an hour each time for early intervention programme and physiotherapy services to help improve her gross motor skill. She cried so bitterly each time she was left at the centre.

Today Chong Yu Xin comes in everyday with a grin and joins her friends in all activities including swimming on Thursdays. She is still unable to walk but goes through intensive therapies and training sessions at the centre and in the Government Hospital.

Chong Yu Xin needs financial assistance. Her medication costs more than RM 200 per month. Her splints have to be changed every time she grows and her spectacles are too costly. Her parents work as a mee stall holder and they have another young son. Her parents are unable to contribute the monthly RM450 for her education but they are determined and courageous as little Yu Xin and contribute what they can help her overcome her disabilities.
